After Samsung successfully unveiled its newest flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, fans are now anticipating the release of the Korean company's phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The device is expected to come later this year. Ahead of its launch, rumors and speculations regarding the device continue to be made. Just this week, a leak surfaced regarding the image of the upcoming phablet.

In a photo leak from KK Low-Key in the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, the image shows the back panel of the device boasting a dual camera. According to the source, the prototype in the photo is the abandoned design of the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Analyst and industry insider Eldar Murtazin also suggests the same thing. Muratazin believes that the initial design for the Samsung Galaxy S8 could become the new design for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

As for the rest of the rumored specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is believed to come in a 6.32-inch display size with an active matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) dual-edge curved screen. It is also anticipated to come with "infinity display" features. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may remove the home button and put the fingerprint scanner at the back of the device which is similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8.

For its power, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may come with two processors — Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and the Exynos 9 processor, depending on the region. It is expected to come with 6 GB of random access memory (RAM) out of the box.

According to Value Walk, one problem that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may have is that the Samsung Galaxy S8 already resembles the size of a phablet. With this, the Korean company has to ensure that the upcoming phablet will have other distinguishing features to attract fans to purchase it. Even though the Note series has a S Pen stylus, the news portal believes that it needs to bring in something more in its upcoming iteration.
