Google is on top gear in having the Android 5.0 Lollipop onboard most of its latest devices. While doing the chore, the search engine giant is also pushing the Android KitKat 4.4.4 update to many Android handsets to take care of the bugs and bring new features and enhancements to the smartphones. As far as rollout date for the new OS is concerned, nothing is still certain. However, Gotta Be Mobile puts money on a late 2014 rollout for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5, and an early 2015 rollout for the older models.

What is sure though is that international variants of the Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 2 and Note 3 will not get the Android KitKat 4.4.4 update. Instead, users of these handsets will have to stick with the Android KitKat 4.4.2 until the Lollipop rollout for them commences. It may entail a longer wait than expected but, thankfully, a preview of the Material Design boasted by the new operating system on the S4 and the S5 was released by Sam Mobile.

Looking at Sam Mobile's sneak peeks, Phone Arena remarked that Android 5.0 Lollipop will not be fully sopped up by the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5. Users will notice the new card-based actionable notifications and the nice-looking Settings menu all made over, but they can still enjoy the colorful and vivid blend of Lollipop's Material Design and Samsung's visuals. Droid Life also adds that Lollipop provides dramatic improvements performance-wise, making the phones a lot speedier.

On the other hand, Gotta Be Mobile strives to enlighten Note 3 and S4 users regarding the Android 5.0 Lollipop, saying that they'll likely receive the update in the first months of 2015. The site also assumes that U.S. carriers and even those in Australia and Europe will be the prime bringers of the latest operating system (which it expects to fetch tons of bug fixes to the handsets), basing on their release patterns and schedules.

Google is in the middle of a strenuous process. Delays and issues are likely to greet them along the way, but the great thing here is the assurance that the abovementioned phones will experience Android 5.0 Lollipop in the near future.
