Samsung Galaxy 10.1 (2015) in the works to battle iPad Air 2

Samsung may have dropped a hint that it is working on — and will eventually release — the new generation Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.

Phone Arena reported that an unannounced tablet was spotted in Samsung's web site, specifically in descriptions of Samsung's WatchON, Galaxy 11 Shooting Shooter and Galaxy 11 Cannon Shooter pages.

However, aside from being a mere mention in the pages, the company has not revealed the specs and features of the upcoming tablet. It is still unconfirmed whether the leak was accidental or intentional.

It was in October 2013 when Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) boasting a 10.1-inch LCD screen display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, Snapdragon 800 and S Pen stylus. The tablet fared well in the market; however, iPad still dominated the tablet arena.

This year, consumers will be happy to see a lot of upgrades in the tablet. The South Korean company will probably include better and improved specs and features such as AMOLED screen display, Snapdragon 805 chipset, and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

With the threat posed by the recently released iPad Air 2 and HTC Nexus 9, Samsung is under pressure to release a better tablet that will take a bite on Apple and Google's sales. Samsung fans may have to wait for at least a month or so for the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2015) as Google will roll out the Android 5.0 to third party manufacturers in November.

There is also a possibility that the tablet will be released next year when Qualcomm releases the Snapdragon 810. The said chipset will support 64-bit systems. Reports claim that devices with such processor will start appearing next year, the earliest will be at Consumers Electronics Show 2015.

However, the South Korean tech giant has not confirmed any of the rumors mentioned above. More details are expected to emerge as the release of the device nears.
