A brand new "Rick and Morty" short was released this Thanksgiving 2017, and fans were surprised to learn more about one of the minor characters, Mr. Poopybutthole. The short is a sneak peek into the life of Mr. Poopybutthole before the series began and reveals both his past and how he met his wife.

The short was uploaded to Adult Swim's YouTube channel on Nov. 22.

Titled "The Poop in My Pants," and clocking at a little over two minutes, the short stars with the Smith family enjoying a meal together but quickly transitions to Mr. Poopybutthole as he's watching TV. His television show comes to an end and he whips open a photo album revealing his past.

What follows is a montage of pictures, revealing memories that range from how Mr. Poopybutthole first asked his wife to a study date to when they got married. Included in the album are several other touching memories as when Mr. Poopybutthole and his wife got their first pets when their cat grew old and died, and when they realized they would be getting a baby boy sometime in the near future.

The montage ends with Mr. Poopybutthole wandering into the kitchen to smile at his wife and son.

It was a fresh, heart-warming short, a small thanksgiving-themed treat for fans who are eagerly waiting for the fourth season. The short did not include any release date news.

Aside from appearing in the new Thanksgiving short, Mr. Poopybutthole also appeared at the end of season 3's credits to announce the upcoming fourth season of "Rick and Morty." No specifics were given at the time. "See ya for season four, in like a very long time." He announced, breaking the fourth wall before he went on to enjoy dinner with his wife and child. The Thanksgiving short was a nice call back to the ending of season three.
