'Ray Donovan' season 4 spoilers: New relationships seen for Ray

 Showtime

"Ray Donovan" season 3 ended with a wounded Ray (Liev Schreiber) being driven to Los Angeles while his father Mickey (Jon Voight) drove to las Vegas. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, show runner David Hollander revealed that Donovan will be looking to face his past and in doing so will form new relationships.

"That desire is going to lead him into a new form of relationship," Hollander said, "a relationship that is going to open up his life personally and professionally in yet another large city. There will be new situations, a new family dynamic, and along the way that will really impact every member of his family and in a strange way conflate with Mickey again."

While Hollander did not expound whom Donovan will form new relationships with, he did explain that Paige (Katie Holmes) and her family may still be present in season 4 without being the season's main focal point in terms of progression and plot.

He did explain that he is never "finished" with anybody, hinting that Holmes may yet play a part in season 4 despite the change in scenery.

In regard to location, Hollander revealed that two cities will play a major part in season 4, with the first obviously going to be Los Angeles. When asked if the other city would be Boston, Hollander said that it would not. He did hint that the second location would seem like an "offshoot" of Los Angeles, which could mean it is set in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas is the last known destination of Ray's father which is why many fans speculate it will be the secondary setting for the show, although there is always the possibility of another city being chosen, such as Chicago or a city also set in California.

"Ray Donovan" season 4 currently has no premiere date, although it is scheduled to release in early 2016.
