The latest issue of Japanese magazine CoroCoro (via Gematsu) reveals that the highly anticipated upcoming "Pokemon" spin-off title, "Pokken Tournament," is gaining three new characters added to its roster. The magazine reveals that the Legendary Mewtwo, Garchomp and Braixen will be joining the game's cast.

The three additions now bring the maximum roster to fifteen playable characters. However, as pointed out in a report from Game Rant, it is quite peculiar that Braixen has been added given that it is not the final evolutionary form of the basic Pokemon Fennekin. Braixen is only the middle form, with Delphox the third and final evolution.

Fennekin, Braixen and its final form Delphox made their appearance in "Pokemon X and Y" and are some of the few starter fire-type Pokemon that focus on special attacks instead of physical strength.

Mewtwo has been an iconic member of the "Pokemon" franchise ever since Generation I as it was the first Legendary Pokemon in the entire series, alongside Mew. Mewtwo is also the most recognizable Legendary, not only for being the first but also for starring in the first movie and in the subsequent anime series.

It is important to note that this makes two versions of Mewtwo available in the game. It was previously revealed that the game would also have a Shadow Mewtwo, which is a dark-type variety of the normal psychic Mewtwo.

Garchomp is the final form of Gible, evoling from the middle form Gabite. It is one of the only dragon-ground hybrid in the game series and made its first appearance during the Generation IV titles, "Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum."

Also pointed out in a report from IGN is that none of the three additions refers to the mysterious Pokemon that is set to be revealed soon via the game's official Twitter page.

"Pokken Tournament" is set to release in Japan by March 18 while North America and Europe will see a late Spring release later this year.
