The announcement of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" has put to rest the rumors of the rumored but not confirmed "Pokemon Z" launching this year. Despite this, a report from Yibada points out that the legendary Pokemon previously believed to make an impact in "Pokemon Z" may be featured in "Pokemon Sun and Moon."

According to the report, the new Legendary Pokemon Volcanion as well as the multiple forms of Zygarde may be featured in "Pokemon Sun and Moon." They have been released as special gift events for "Pokemon X and Y" and "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire" but may have a plot-related event in the upcoming new games.

The report continues to explain that all of the rumored features for "Pokemon Z" might find their way into "Pokemon Sun and Moon" such as the inclusion of two playable regions. However, this might not be the case as a previous report reveals that the new games will be set on a tropical island setting refered to as Alola.

Volcanion and the different forms of Zygarde may also be transfered from the previous 3DS titles to "Pokemon Sun and Moon" given that the new games will also be compatible with the Pokemon Bank app system. The Pokemon Bank allows players to store and transfer Pokemon from one game to the other.

The Pokemon Bank system is also compatible with the 3DS re-release of "Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow" although this only works as a one-way route, with games from the older generation allowed to transfer to the Bank but Pokemon from the new games not allowed to be transfered to the older ones.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" are scheduled to be released by the holidays this year, indicating a late December release.
