'Pokemon X and Y', 'Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire' to receive shiny Xerneas and Yveltal

 The Pokemon Company

As previously reported, an issue of Japanese magazine CoroCoro revealed there would be numerous forms of the legendary Pokemon Zygarde. The newest issue of CoroCoro (courtesy of Nintendo-Insider) doesn't give an update on Zygarde but it does reveal "Pokemon" that players on the 3DS will be receiving shiny legendaries soon.

A level 100 shiny Xerneas will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 29, launching simultaneously with the new "Pokemon XY and Z" anime. A level 100 shiny Yveltal will follow on Nov. 5. Lastly, a level 100 Zygarde will be given on Nov. 12. It is important to note that these release dates are only for Japan, with no confirmation regarding a Western release thus far.

The shiny Xerneas will come with the moves Focus Blast, Moon Blast, Aromatherapy and Geomancy. The shiny Yveltal will be equipped with the moves Foul Play, Sucker Punch, Oblivion and Dark Pulse. The Zygarde will come with Outrage, Extreme Speed, Glare and Land's Wrath.

In order to receive the three special Pokemon, a player must simply be online when playing and then access the Mystery Gift option on the main menu. All three Pokemon will be available for "Pokemon X," "Pokemon Y," "Pokemon Omega Ruby" and "Pokemon Alpha Sapphire."

According to a report from iDigital Times, the lack of a shiny Zygarde is noticeable. However, this version of the legendary Pokemon might be offered for a later event.

It is also speculated that these new event Pokemon may be more than just a reward for players celebrating the launch of the new anime. It is hinted that these event Pokemon might be an indication that "Pokemon Z" is indeed in the works and that it could launch in 2016, alongside the franchise's 20th anniversary.

If "Pokemon Z" does release in 2016, it will be a big year for "Pokemon" fans as 2016 is also the release window for "Pokemon Go" and "Pokken Tournament."
