The latest trailer for "Pokemon Sun and Moon" focused a lot on the two Legendary Pokemon, the Alola region and the new characters, but as stated in a report from iDigital Times, it also reveals that the Pokedex, a device used to keep track of encountered and captured Pokemon, will have new features.

The trailer reveals that the Pokemon known as Rotom will be merging with the Pokedex. In previous games, such as "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl," Rotom was revealed to have the capability of merging with ordinary household objects. In "Pokemon Sun and Moon" it will be merging with the Pokedex, granting it a few enhancements.

As showcased in the trailer, the new Pokedex will have the ability to converse with the player. It is undetermined if this ability is built-into the Pokedex and then enhanced by Rotom or if it is solely due to Rotom's powers affecting the device.

In the official website, the developers also reveal that the new Pokedex will also have the ability to show the player their current location and their next destination, serving as a map of some kind of map. This may mean that the player will get a map the same time they get the Pokedex.

It is further stated that the Rotom Pokedex can also give tips on reaching the next location, based on the information given to them by the people they've talked to in the game. According to iDigital Times, this may also indicate that the Pokedex will serve as a journal to keep track of quests.

Should this be the case it is speculated that the Pokedex will keep track of sub-quests as well. This will prevent players from forgetting details about the smaller tasks they have acquired along their journey.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will launch for the Nintendo 3DS this Nov. 18.
