Sony has confirmed that PlayStation TV will be unveiled in the U.S. on Oct. 14 and in Europe on Nov. 14, as reported by Tech Radar

The streaming box will allow users to stream a wide range of content, such as games, movies, and shows, to their TVs through Wi-Fi connectivity. As such, avid gamers can play PS Vita, PSP and PS One classics on the TV itself.

At least 700 games are reportedly going to be streamed on the day that PlayStation TV is to be released, with which three can be obtained by users free of charge: "OlliOlli," "Velocity Ultra," and "Worms Revolution Extreme." The library is still expected to expand with games similar to "Minecraft" within a period of time.

PlayStation TV will be launched for a price of £84.99 or $99, and will include 1GB of built-in storage. If customers want to get their hands on an additional wireless DualShock 3 controller, 8GB memory card and "The Lego Movie" video game, they would have to pay up $139.99. PlayStation 4 owners can make use of the Remote Play to have their PS4 games streamed from their console to the PS TV.

The upcoming streaming box also plays select titles for Vita games, which can be transferred to the device either through downloading or direct use of a game card. PS One classics have also been suggested by EuroGamer, including "Silent Hill," "Tekken," "Crash Bandicoot," "Tomb Raider," and "Metal Gear Solid."

Also deemed as the "PlayStation Vita TV", the PS TV was already released in Asia, such as in Japan, last fall. Sony continues to expand its wide range of entertainment network services and went into an agreement to air 22 channels of Viacom Inc., including MTV and Comedy Central, for its online TV. However, the company has not yet announced an official launching date for such online TV service.
