After the announcement of the OS X Yosemite in June this year, Apple has made several beta versions available for those enrolled in the Mac Developer Program, constantly and quickly fixing bugs as they continued to have the new operating system tried out. Last Oct. 9, exactly a week before its reported release, the final quick touch-up called the OS X Yosemite GM 3.0 was released.
"Yosemite is the future of OS X with its incredible new design and amazing new apps, all engineered to work beautifully with iOS," said Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering during the Yosemite launch event months back, as quoted by PC Advisor.
The world may only be days away from what could be Apple's last reveal of the year, and the OS X Yosemite is expected to be one of the tech giant's revelations on Thursday. The OS will be an upgrade of Mavericks, and users with Mac systems running on Mavericks can get the update simply by downloading Yosemite from the Mac App Store. And the cool part is that the update will likely need no shell out.
The OS X Yosemite is unique because it sports a "new yet familiar look," as Gotta Be Mobile puts it. The most notable changes include more organized toolbars and revamped buttons with windows hovering over a fresher and cleaner design. A blurred view of the background can also be seen through some apps, yet navigating through the update will not be a hassle.
Better Notification Center and Spotlight will also be present, while the improved dock and system fonts will make OS X Yosemite look good on Retina display.
But fans have long been ready for not one, not two, but a whole new set of Apple contraptions. It has been predicted that the iPad Mini 3, the iPad Air 2, iOS 8.1, and the iMac Retina would also be released during the event. Apple (which, one can assume, is aware that their patrons have waited long enough) will address just that on Oct. 16 in its unveiling event in the Town Hall Auditorium in its Cupertino headquarters campus, accompanied by the tagline "It's been way too long."
