The third season of "Orphan Black" is reported to premiere in the spring of 2015.
Renewing the show for another season by BBC is not surprising after the successful run of the first and second season of the series. Moreover, the series proved to be one of the most successful series in television and has garnered international awards.
Its prime character Tatiana Maslany received a Golden Globe nomination and honors from the Critics' Choice TV Awards, TCA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards. Thus, it is not surprising that producers opted for another season of the series.
According to reports, 10 episodes have been confirmed so far and Tatiana Maslany will still play the main character with multiple clones. Moreover, the filming of the next season just started and spoilers will surely start to emerge. It was initially reported that filming of next season will start in September.
According to reports, the third season will pick up where season 2 left off. The second season ended with Helena being captured by the military and Sarah was unaware of the situation. However, once Sarah knew that her clone was held captive, she will surely do everything to save her clone. Rumors claimed that Sarah will enlist the help of Mark to get Sarah out.
Executive producers John Fawcett and Graeme Manson confirmed that the military has its own male cloning project named Project Castor. Fans were surprised that the final episode showed that Mark is one of the male clones.
"What's interesting about this is that Ari Millen is a really talented guy and he's someone that we had brought in as this new Prolethean character, and we had planned to kill him in episode 6. After he did some significantly great work for us in the early get-going of the season we started to focus our eyes on him as very strong potential for our male clone, and that's kind of how that happened," Fawcett told Entertainment Weekly.
"Orphan Black" season 3 will be back next year to lure its 1.24 million viewers.
