'No Man's Sky' release date: Lead programmer gives new update on development; game's release set for June

Upcoming indie title "No Man's Sky" made a big wave during its October press release, which saw the official full-length trailer as well as the announcement of a June release window. Since then, developer Hello Games has been silent, but a new Twitter post from lead programmer Sean Murray finally gives fans an update.

"Just stepped away from my screen after 20 hours full steam," Murray stated before jokingly asking, "What day is it? Where am I? Who is the president?"

The first statement, as pointed out in a report from Design and Trend, confirms that while there has been very little press coverage for the game since October, the developers are still hard at work to finish the game on time. "No Man's Sky" has been delayed several times and this new Twitter post reassures fans that the game will hit its June release.

As it stands, the game is designed as an open-world exploration game with over 18 quintillion planets to explore and mine for resources. These resources can be used to upgrade a player's spacecraft and their weapons or develop other tools. Players will be allowed to name the planets they discover as well.

"No Man's Sky" is only confirmed for the PS4, although a PC release is also imminent. According to the report, compatibility with the Playtation VR may also be implemented soon and this may be the main cause for the game's delay thus far, as the development team are working to make the game work with an accessory that has yet to hit the market.

No Xbox One version is currently in discussion given that Sony has been one of the primary backers for the game, indicating that "No Man's Sky" will remain as a PS4 exclusive. This may change depending on how well the PC version sells and if Sony only has time-exclusive rights for the game, meaning after several months, it may become possible to port it to the Xbox One.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
