Dallas Cowboys trade rumors 2016: the Cowboys are rumored to picking up Mike Glennon

According to a report from 24/7 Sports Insider, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be letting go of reserve quarterback Mike Glennon, and if so he may be heading to the Dallas Cowboys. According to the report, the Cowboys are keeping an eye on Glennon should he become a free agent sooner than expected.

The report states that the Cowboys have a standing offer and if the Buccaneers agree to a trade they will be able to take either the 2016 third-round pick or 2017 third-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys. It is also noted that the Cowboys made the offer immediately on draft day.

It is also reported that the Arizona Cardinals are also interested in picking up Glennon. The Cardinals reportedly attempted to make an offer with their second-round pick before the drafts even began. However, the Buccaneers have yet to respond to either team.

Glennon was brought into the Buccaneers back in 2013. During his time on the field he managed 29 touchdowns, thrown a total of 4,025 yards and managed 15 interceptions in the two seasons of play. However, the team has not been putting much emphasis on him as they brought in Josh McCown in 2014 and Jameis Winston in 2015.

Jameis Winston landed the number 1 draft pick in 2015 and this has pushed Glennon out of the Buccaneers' spotlight.

The Dallas Cowboys already have four quarterbacks currently in their team and are currently aiming to push forward with Tony Romo as their lead but the report states that the team might be valuing Glennon even more so than what they already have if they are indeed pushing forward with a new deal.

According to Bucs Nation, it might be impossible for the Buccaneers to find a suitable trading partner for Glennon at this point and unless someone gets injured it is likely that Glennon will stick with the Buccaneers for at least one more year.
