"NBA 2K17" has been officially launched, and gamers are already on the hunt for locker codes to get free Virtual Currency (VC). As of the moment, however, the only official locker codes that are available can only be attained by purchasing Ruffles chips at Walmart store branches.

As announced by 2K Sports, players can get locker codes by purchasing a minimum of two packs of Ruffles chips at any Walmart branch. After making the purchase, the player must take a photo of the receipt and email the photo to RufflesNBA2K17@2k.com.

Using these codes will unlock 5,000 VC and two jump packs of park cards. It is important to note that these codes will only work for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 versions of the game but not for the last generation ports. Players can avail of this promo up to ten times, and the promo will run until Nov. 15.

The Bitbag has noted that, because of the game's popularity, there have been several other sources stating they offer free locker codes but these sources should reportedly not be trusted as they may be fake and could get a player's account banned or hacked. This has occurred in the past for "NBA 2K16" and "NBA 2K15."

It is stated that 2016–2017 NBA season will begin on Oct. 25, and it is expected that the developers will release a brand new set of locker codes to commemorate the beginning of the new season. The NBA All-Star week will also begin on Feb. 17 until Feb. 19, 2017, and this is another period where new free locker codes may be given.

The game is also expected to gain new locker codes by the time the finals of the season begin.

Locker codes can be used to purchase locked characters, better gear to enhance player stats, and new in-game options.
