'Mr. Robot' season 2 spoilers: Rami Malek reveals more about new direction and changes

Mr. Robot USA Network

Speaking with Collider, "Mr. Robot" actors Rami Malek and Christan Slater, who play Elliot and Mr. Robot, respectively, got to give a few teasers of what fans can expect when the series returns for its second season this July. One thing Malek immediately confirmed was that the season 1 revelation will affect Elliot moving forward.

[Spoilers ahead]

Fans of the show will recall that in season 1 it was later revealed that Mr. Robot, fashioned after Elliot's father, is in fact Elliot himself. The character was going through multiple persona issues and now that he knows Mr. Robot is his other identity he will be using this information in whatever action he takes in season 2.

Christian Slater refrained from describing the nature of season 2 but he did manage to state that like season 1 it was not a show that multi-tasked different plot threads and characters. This may indicate that Elliot and his take on the world of hacking will be the main focus yet again, with other side plots and characters falling in the side to supplement this.

"I would say it's multi-dimensional and extremely layered," added Malek to this description. "I think the best thing to say is that it is in your face. Nothing we do is salacious or provocative or shocking for the sake of that. Everything that is a surprise or a moment is just an evolution of who these characters are and where the story is going."

According to a report from Screen Rant, it appears as if both Slater and Malek are attempting to keep silent regarding any potential spoiler. For this reason they have given very vague or generalized answers that do not give specific insight on what season 2's story may be about.

It is surmised, however, that while season 2 will bring in many changes it will still retain some of the focus and pacing that has made season 1 such a big hit.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 premieres this July 13.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
