Moto X+1 release date in summer as new handset shown in leaked video

Moto X+1 release date may come soon as a new leaked video emerged online this week.

Talks are going around that Motorola will soon announce the successor of Moto X, dubbed the Moto X+1. The alleged device was spotted in several leaks. This time, the handset was seen in an unofficial video ahead of its launch. Korean tech website TK Tech News posted a video on YouTube that showed Moto X+1 wrapped in a Saran Wrap reportedly to hide the identity of the device.

The video showed a device with a large screen display. The screen will be larger as the bezels look thinner compared to the original Moto X. The screen panel was speculated to be 5 inches in size. According to rumors, the Moto X+1 will pack an AMOLED display with Full HD resolution. Also, it seemed that the buttons on the side looked like it was made from either metal or ceramic.

Rumors also claimed that the handset will include features such as a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel back camera, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot for additional storage.

It is still unconfirmed whether the new Motorola handset will run with the upcoming Android 4.5/5.0 Lollipop since the leaked video showed the device running on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. However, the handset will most likely pack the former since there is still time to configure the handset. Moreover, Motorola has developed a good relationship with its former parent company – Google.

Moto X+1 release date is expected to happen in August or in September. If rumors proved to be true, Moto X+1 will battle it out with other smartphones from its rivals, including the heavyweights from Apple and Samsung. Waiting fans are expecting the unlocked version of the device to be offered around $400. However, Motorola has not announced the details yet of its upcoming flagship phone as of yet.
