Moto X+1 release date, specs: Launch imminent as Moto X deal emerges online

Moto X+1 release date may happen soon as a Moto X deal was spotted online.

Moto X+1 was rumored to be the successor of Moto X, which was released last year. Motorola's flagship smartphone is currently available on Amazon; the white model with 16 GB storage costs $334.99, and a black version also with 16 GB storage for $338.95. This is almost half the original price of the handset which is $619.99.

Moto X packed a dual-core Motorola X8 computing system, 2 GB RAM, a 4.7-inch, 720p display, a 10-megapixel ClearPixel camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The smartphone was also equipped with a variety of sensors and "smart" features, as well as the customization through Motorola's Moto Maker service, which are some of the selling points of the handset.

Aside from the flagship smartphone Moto X, other Motorola handsets such as Moto G and Moto Razr now bear discounted prices in Amazon. A discounted price is one of the main indicators if a new device is on its way.

Rumors about the Moto X sequel has been circulating since earlier this month. It was speculated that the smartphone will deliver high-performance, stable hardware, high customization options and a lower price tag. Moreover, the handset will feature more touchless controls, new Active Display features, and a Moto Maker accessible in more regions. However, Motorola has not revealed the official specs and features of Moto X+1.

Moreover, reliable tipster @evleaks hinted that the Moto X+1 will indeed offer a much wider range of customization options on the back panel. There was this rumor that Moto X+1 will offer a back panel made out of wood such as Rosewood, Teak, Ebony, Bamboo. Also, other back panels in consideration are leather and plastic.

It was also mentioned that major US carriers Verizon, AT&T and Sprint will offer the handset. However, Motorola and Lenovo have not disclosed any details about the rumored smartphone yet.
