Smartwatches have begun flooding the market after the IFA 2015 event. The three main gadgets currently in the spotlight are the Moto 360 2, the Apple Watch and the Samsung Gear S2.

The Samsung Gear S2 utilizes a dual-core processor clocking in at 1 GHz while the Apple Watch and Moto 360 2 are slightly faster with their use of a Snapdragon 400 processor which clocks in at 1.2 GHz. All three devices feature 512 MB of RAM as well as 4 GB on-board storage for apps and other features.

One of the main advantages of the Moto 360 2, as pointed out in a report from 9to5Mac, is that it can utilize any 22 mm watch band. The Gear S2 allows the same level of customization. The Apple Watch is restricted to first-party watch bands and a few select third-party bands supported by the main company.

Photos of the Gear S2 posted on TechRadar showcase its design, which is meant to resemble a regular watch. The Apple Watch retains its square design while the Moto 360 2 sports a circular face but is still obviously a digital device.

Accessing apps is arguably easier on the Apple Watch due to its support for touchscreen swiping and using the Digital Crown at its side to scroll through apps. The Moto 360 2 and Samsung Gear S2 focus primarily on touchscreen swiping with the former also allowing users to switch through notifications by flicking their wrist in different manners, which can be clumsy in execution.

The Moto 360 2 does have one advantage: it is capable of working with both iOS and Android. The Samsung Gear S2 works in synchronization with Android 4.4 and above while the Apple Watch is strictly an iOS device. The Moto 360 2 can work with both but only to a limited degree.

With regard to price, the Moto 360 2 starts off at $299 for its basic model while the 38 mm Stainless Steel Case Apple Watch with a white band costs $550. The Samsung Gear S2 has no official pricing at the time of writing.
