"Metal Gear Online" is now available and can be accessed via the main menu on "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." Like all video games, there are a few tips and tricks, as well as a few exploits that can be taken advantage of to help players keep the edge over others.

As reported by iDigital Times, there is a bug that allows players to dive "up" a staircase, which has proven to be a faster method compared to simply running up the stairs. The report does cite that it is likely this bug will be fixed in a later patch, but at the time being, this is the fastest way up in order to avoid getting shot at.

The report also points out the use of the Stealth Camo since the camouflage does not disable even while a player is attacking, allowing players to continually attack as they remain hidden from sight. Players who want to spot those using Stealth Camo have no real option other than to head to well-lit area and search for a rival player's shadow.

Another technique, listed by TwinFinite, is to stay close to an ally. Even if all the players are using Stealth Camo, a player can locate and attack a rival if that rival attacks the chosen ally first. "Metal Gear Online" also has a feature that allows a player to respawn right beside their ally if they have been close to that other player for a continuous period of time.

Weight is also of importance because carrying too much gear slows a player down, making it more difficult to dodge attacks and hide back to safety.

Another recent update, as reported by Kotaku, is the "FOB Insurance" feature. "Metal Gear Online" features in-game micro-transactions, and this new insurance for a player's "Forward Operating Base" ensures that their items are not gone even when their base has been raided by other players, as long as the paid subscription is ongoing.
