FYI's experimental reality series "Married at First Sight" has already helped the network in procuring a new record with the final episode of its first season raking in 903,000 viewers and 494,000 adults aged 25 to 54 last Sept. 9 at 9p.m. The series' premiere that carried on up to two hours also delivered to 395,000 adults aged 18 to 49.

As such, "Married at First Sight" season 2 has already been announced, and casting for six singles is ongoing. The series, which is founded on a Danish version that uses the same format, brought in mixed responses due to its unusual arrangements.

The show allows experts to select and match individuals for them to get married during the first time that they meet, as suggested by the show's title. They will live together within a period of six weeks and will make a mutual decision whether they choose to stay together or head for divorce.

By the end of the first season, two couples managed to remain married while one pair made the decision to call it quits, as reported by IB Times. Despite the ups and downs that the Jamie-Doug and Cortney-Jason tandems went through in the entire season, both couples have said yes to staying married.

Meanwhile, Monet and Vaughn cited their differences in wanting and preparing for a family in the future as well as in not having "chemistry", hence the decision to be separated.

According to FYI president Jana Bennett, the show has exhibited success in appealing to the audience, hence the network's plans in continuing the series next year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"'Married at First Sight' has truly captured viewers' attention and garnered awareness for FYI following our successful rebrand," Bennett said. "The series reflects the authentic, relatable and universal journey- our search for true love. The quest will continue anew next year."
