'Longmire' season 5 premiere date, spoilers: Vic and Walt to get together?

"Longmire" season 4 ended with Walt (Robert Taylor) getting intimate with Donna (Ally Walker) right before an unidentified person broke into Walt's home in the middle of the night. However, a recent post on the official "Longmire" Facebook page indicates that Walt may not stick with Donna for much longer.

The photo showcases Walt standing with Vic (Katee Sackhoff) with the caption "What does the future hold for Walt and Vic?" While it does not outright state that the two will get together, fans of the original novels will recall that they do become a couple in the near future and this may be what the photo post is implying.

According to a report from IB Times, the fan reactions have been split, with many stating this would be a positive move for the show since it would make "Longmire" more faithful to the novels. Others are against this move, stating that Vic appears to be too young for Walt and that their relationship is more akin to that of a father and a daughter.

Fans who want the show to follow the books also point out that Vic and Walt's relationship has existed in just about every entry in the series but has been absent in the series since season 1. Instead, the two have only existed within the show as close professional friends with strong emotional ties but nothing romantic between them.

Before Vic and Walt can get together, however, the report does point out that Walt is currently with Donna. Given the nature of the season 4 finale, it is likely Donna will make a return in season 5. If Vic and Walt do get together, this may mean bad things will happen to Donna or that she and Walt will have a falling out and separate.

"Longmire" season 5 is expected to launch this September, although no official announcements have been made by Netflix.
