'Life Is Strange' episode 5 news: 'Polarized' premieres Oct. 20

Life is Strange - Polarized release date Dontnod Entertainment

Dontnod Entertainment has announced via Twitter that the fifth episode for its adventure game "Life Is Strange" will release this Oct. 20. However, as reported by Cinema Blend the company has also explained that last minute changes to the episode, titled "Polarized," might alter its release date, most likely pushing it back a bit.

"Many things can change in the lead up to release but the team are working really hard to try and hit this date. We know the wait may be a bit longer than some of you were hoping for but we want to ensure Episode 5 is the best it can be," reads the official announcement

The announcement of the game's release date was in celebration of the birthday of the game's protagonist, Maxine, which was on Sept. 21.

[Spoiler Warning] "Life is Strange" focuses on Oregon student Maxine Caulfield, who gains the power to rewind time after a freak accident. She later uses this power to help her friend Chloe find someone who has disappeared, although episode 4 saw Blackwell teacher Mark Jefferson shoot Chloe in the head.

"Polarized" will focus on Maxine now that she has learned the secrets of the dark room and what she will do with Jefferson. It will also show if she would be able to use her abilities to save Chloe from dying.

The first episode of "Life Is Strange" released back on Jan. 30, with episode 2 releasing on March 24, episode 3 releasing on May 19, and episode 4 releasing on July 28.

With "Polarized" releasing this Oct. 20, the game's official campaign will come to an end. However, Dontnod Entertainment has not yet confirmed if it has plans to extend the story with five more episodes, similar to how "The Walking Dead" received a second season that contained five new episodes focusing on Clementine.

"Life Is Strange" is currently available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, and Playstation 3.
