LG G4 release date, specs and features: 2K or 3K screen display?

LG G3 LG

The upcoming LG G4 has gained so much attention that there are now conflicting reports about its possible specs, including its screen resolution. Some are saying that the LG smartphone will have a 2K display while others claim that it will be 3K.

There were previous reports that surfaced online about a smartphone with model number LG-VS999, which will allegedly boast a 3K screen resolution or 1620 x 2880 pixels. The LG variant is reportedly the model that will be offered by Verizon.

Conversely, reports now claim that the LG G4 will render a quad HD screen display. Full HD resolution is pretty popular for smartphones and a 2K resolution will definitely be a major upgrade. My LG Phones published a snippet of a leaked XML file citing three different versions of the LG G4, specifically the LG-F500S, the LG-F500K, and the LG-F500L. Based on the S / K / L suffixes in the model numbers, the three devices will be heading to the three major carriers in South Korea.

As for other presumed specs, the flagship smartphone of LG is said to feature a 5-inch screen display. It will be powered with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 810 processor paired with a bigger RAM, as well as a 16- to 20-megapixel rear shooter, and longer-lasting battery. The smartphone will most likely run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Fans can't wait to see if these speculations are accurate, but LG stated that it will take its time in making the device. The company will reportedly skip the Mobile World Congress and will launch the product in May. According to a report from Korean news source The Chosun Ilbo, the South Korean tech company is currently "perfecting" the smartphone.

"We rolled out the G3 in May last year so we do not plan to unveil the G4 at this year's Mobile World Congress and spend more time perfecting the new phone," an unnamed LG executive said.

More details are bound to surface as the release date of the handset nears.
