Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge may have a new competitor as South Korean tech company LG Electronics will reportedly announce the LG G Flex 2 at the 2015 Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Sporting a curved screen display, the LG G Flex 2 may take a bite off the sales of Samsung's phablet. But whether it will put up a good fight against the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is dependent to its specs and features.

The Galaxy Note Edge gained popularly because of its screen that extends to the side. However, the feature is seen only on the right side of the device, while the LG G Flex 2 is said to sport a concave-shaped screen display.

Before the end of 2014, Qualcomm sent the LG G Flex 2 to the headlines when it tweeted a photo of a device powered by the company's Snapdragon 800 chipset. The tweet immediately caught the attention of tech news websites, as many identified the device as one made by LG, and many speculate that it's the rumored G Flex 2. This is perceived as a strong indication that the handset is going to be unveiled soon.

A stronger rumor that supports the imminent release of the LG G Flex 2 is the poster of the smartphone allegedly spotted at the CES event. Based on the poster, the device sports a design similar to its predecessor. It is expected to have a metal-like finish with the power and volume buttons at the back.

The LG G Flex is deemed as one of the best smartphones announced in 2013, thanks to its specs and features that received good ratings and rave reviews from tech websites. It was one of the first devices to feature a curved screen display when the technology was still in development stage and the device was released to test the waters.

At this point, nothing is official until LG announces the details of the device.
