"The Last Witch Hunter" starring Vin Diesel will not come out until late October but it appears that there are already plans of moving forward with a sequel. The studios apparently want Diesel to commit to return, as shared by the actor in his most recent Facebook post.

According to a report from Collider, Diesel recently posted a still from the film  on his Facebook page along with the statement, "So the studio apparently is so excited by the Last Witch Hunter - The Axe and Cross franchise... that they are already commencing on the next one. The first one doesn't hit theaters until October 23rd, yet they want me to commit and already block out time to film it."

Diesel is a very busy actor these days and, as pointed out by a report from Cinema Blend, studios need to lock in their actors before they are lost due to scheduling conflicts. Diesel is already slated to return for an eighth "Fast and Furious" film while also preparing for his return as Groot in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2."

"The Last Witch Hunter" tells the tale of Kaulder, a witch hunter who slays the Witch Queen during the Dark Ages. However, before she perishes, she curses him with immortality so he may never meet his family again in the afterlife. Kaulder, now in the modern day, has to join forces with a good witch in order to stop a coven of witches from unleashing a plague on all humanity.

The film  is being directed by Breck Eisner based on a screen play by Cory Goodman and later re-written by D.W. Harper and Melisa Wallack. The film also stars Rose Leslie from "Game of Thrones," Elijah Wood, and Michael Caine.

"The Last Witch Hunter" will hit theaters on Oct. 23, competing against "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" and "Jem and the Holograms."
