The Los Angeles Lakers have not been faring well in the current season with only two wins thus far and twelve losses. The team's next match is on Nov. 28 against the Portland Trail Blazers. This early in the season there are already a few rumors regarding the team's strategy, which may involve trading off some key players.
According to a report from the Boston Globe, the LA Lakers might be trading out power forward Brandon Bass, center Roy Hibbert and point guard Lou Williams. The team will be trading off the three players in an attempt to gain new assets that may prove useful in the next NBA season.
Judging from the players' scorecard and time on the court, Bass has seen very little action in the 2015 season while Williams hasn't had the opportunity yet to really show off his skills and ability to lead points. Hibbert has seen more playtime than the other two but may not yet have found his place in the team.
It is also pointed out that coach Bryan Scott may be considering to trade them off due to how expensive they are for the LA Lakers. It is explained that the Lakers paid these three players a significant amount, particularly in comparison to what they were earning in their former teams, but have yet to prove they are worth the investment.
The coach has been patient with his new players, however, particularly with Lou WIlliams, who cost the team $21 Million for a three-year contract.
In a report from the LA Daily News, Scott explained that Williams has "got a couple of opportunities so far early in the season and he's going to get a lot more. For me in the fourth quarter, in the last six or seven minutes, it's really who has been playing the best at that time. That's the guy I'm going to go with."
Scott continued to state that even when Williams is not able to shoot very well he is still able to open opportunities for himself and that he can still "keep up numbers" for the team.
