iPod Touch 6th generation release date; Music player expected to look like iPhone 6

 ProductReviews

After the attention-grabbing iPhone 6 launch last week, rumors are already flying around about Apple's roadmap.

The tech giant is speculated to unveil the sixth generation of the iPod Touch next month as the music player joins the ranks of the Apple devices that still need to be updated. The last iPod Touch was updated two years ago and was released alongside iPhone 5.

Now that two new iPhone 6 models have already been launched, Apple fans thinks that a refreshed iPod Touch will arrive next month.  Since the September event was packed with the new iPhones and the Apple Watch, it is likely that the iPod Touch was left out so as not to crowd previous event. The iPod Touch could be announced with the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

The iPod Touch 6th Gen is speculated to resemble the new iPhone 6 since the previous iPod Touch looked like the iPhone 5. It is also predicted that the new version of the device will come with Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which is also bound to be present in the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

Meanwhile, the upcoming iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are expected to have the same design and form factor as their predecessors. It is likely that the two will also pack the same screen display with the upgraded pixel resolution. The tablets will be powered by the upcoming A8 processor and will run with the new iOS 8. The tablets will also be equipped with the much awaited TouchID fingerprint sensor, upgraded camera at the back, and a more efficient and longer battery life.

According to predictions, the iPad Air and iPad Mini 3 are set to arrive in October, which is the usual release date window of the company's tablet line. Reports claim that the next generation of iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina were headed for production last month in order to make it to its target release date in the fall.

However, Apple has not revealed any official information about the iPod Touch and the iPad release date and features.
