The specs and features of the rumored iPhone 7 are coming together as the device is reportedly in the works already. These include a new OS, a new processor, and a tough screen.

Latest reportage says that the iOS 9 is currently in progress. Taken that Apple is keeping up with its roadmap and schedule like last year, the upcoming operating system will most likely be announced at the Worldwide Developers' Conference 2015 in June. Of course, this is a mere speculation as Apple is known for not releasing details of its products in advance, and it only reveals the juicy facts during its keynote address at its press event.

Still, that hasn't stopped the tech world from coming up with various theoriess about the iOS 9's new features. There is a possibility that Apple will open the Apple Pay or the NFC chip to developers as it did with the TouchID fingerprint sensor.

Meanwhile, Korean media source ETNews reported last month that Samsung has started manufacturing the A9 processors in one of its plants based in Austin, Texas. The company reportedly won the bidding to be the manufacturer of the processors that will be included in the next generation of Apple devices such as the iPhone 7.

Reports say that the new A9 chip will be a 14nm processor that will make it thinner, lighter, and more power efficient than its predecessors. With a thinner processor, Apple's smartphone will most likely have a thinner profile.

In addition, Chiense company Foxconn reportedly invested a big sum of $2.6 billion in building a sapphire plant in Taiwan meant for the production of iPhone's screen display. The plant will grow sapphires for the screens of the upcoming Apple products.

Other than the sapphire screen, A9 processor, and iOS 9, the iPhone 7 is also rumored to have a better camera and battery, although nothing is concrete yet.

These morsels of information, albeit unconfirmed, all hint that the Cupertino-based company is prepping up for the release of iPhone 7. However, the tech giant is still locking away the information to keep fans' anticipations high.
