iPhone 6 vs Moto Droid Turbo specs: Is Moto's big smartphone better?

Verizon Wireless started offering the Motorola Droid Turbo today and it is unsurprising that consumers want to see how it pits against other smartphones in the market, including the iPhone 6.

Below is a comparison between Apple's offering and Motorola's newest handset.

Design

The iPhone 6 sports an aluminum casing with rounded edges as well as the thinnest profile for an iPhone yet. The Motorola Droid Turbo, on the other hand, packs the same design and profile of the Droid handset.

Screen Display

The new iPhone comes with a 4.7-inch screen panel with Full HD resolution. Meanwhile, the Motorola Droid Turbo boasts a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution and a pixel density of 565 ppi. 

Processor

The smartphone from Apple is powered by a 64-bit A8 processor, and is supported by an M8 graphics co-processor. In comparison, the new smartphone from Motorola is powered by a Snapdragon 805 chipset clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 graphics chipset.

Operating System

Apple's new iPhone runs the iOS 8 that packs new features such as iHealth. Meanwhile, the Motorola Droid Turbo runs the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS that will be upgraded to the 5.0 Lollipop version of Android.

Internal Storage

iPhone 6 boasts storage options of 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB, while the Droid Turbo is available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants

Battery

The iPhone 6 boasts a battery capacity that lasts up to 14 hours. The power hogging features of the Motorola Droid Turbo, on the other hand, is supported by 3900 mAh battery capacity.

Consumers will be able to get their hands on the 32 GB model of the Motorola Droid Turbo for $199 at Verizon as long as they are willing to sign a two-year contract. The device is also available under Verizon's Edge plan for $25 per month. The 64 GB model is priced at $249 on-contract. There is no word yet from retailers whether they will also offer the Motorola Droid Turbo.

On the other hand, the iPhone 6 is available in the Apple Store, retailers, and network carriers.
