Google finally relieved a lot of people from their agony of waiting for the successor of LG Nexus 5 when it announced the Nexus 6.

Google Nexus 6 will battle head on with Apple's recently announced iPhone 6 Plus. The official pre-order date for the new Nexus smartphone is set on Oct. 29 with no confirmed shipping dates. The iPhone 6 Plus is already available in Apple Store, carriers and retailers.

Below is the comparison of the specs and features of the new Google Nexus 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Screen Display

Apple surprised everyone when it unveiled larger smartphones last month. The iPhone 6 packs a 4.7-inch screen panel, while the iPhone 6 Plus features a much larger 5.5-inch screen display with 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and 401 ppi. However, this does not come close to Google Nexus 6's 5.96-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution and a pixel density of 493 ppi.

Processor

Apple's iPhone 6 Plus packs the new A8 processor, which is reported to be a 20 nm processor with a 64-bit architecture. The Nexus 6, on the other hand, is powered by the latest quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7 GHz.

Internal Storage

The Google Nexus 6 is available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants. Meanwhile, iPhone 6 Plus is available in 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB models leaving out the 32 GB option.

Operating System

Apple's phablet comes with iOS 8, which heralds new features such as Apple Pay and iHealth. Google Nexus 6, on the other hand, runs with the new Android 5.0 Lollipop, which is claimed as the biggest Android update yet.

Camera

Apple's iPhone 6 Plus packs an 8-megapixel rear snapper and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, but Nexus 6 boasts a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.

Battery

Google Nexus 6 packs lots of power with its 3,220 mAh battery. iPhone 6 Plus has a slightly lesser power as it is supported by 2,915 mAh battery.
