The invites have been making headlines in the technology department these past days, owing to the fact that Apple hosted a major event just recently.  It was only last September when they introduced the iPhone 6, iPhone  6 Plus, Apple Watch, and Apple Pay.

As such, fans and critics alike are eagerly looking forward to the things that are to be unveiled this week at the Cupertino campus.

Reports about the company's possible revelations at the Oct. 16 event are surfacing, and it is likely that versions of the iPad may come out. Photos have been leaked, suggesting the latest chassis of the iPad Air 2 may look similar to the iPhone 6's.

Rumors of a gold-colored iPad have also surfaced, along with the latest anti-reflective display that will allow users to easily use their iPad outdoors and in brightly lit environments. While information about the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are most likely to be further announced, an iPad Pro for 2015 may also be expected.

In addition, Apple users are also looking forward to the unveiling of the OS X Yosemite's final version, a new iMac desktop computer with a Retina display, and possibly a new Mac mini.

The iPad Mini 3 will also be reportedly called the iPad Mini Air, following the naming tradition of the MacBook Air and iPad Air, and possibly an iPhone Air that may be fully developed this year as well, as reported by PC Advisor.

In terms of specs and features, the iPad Mini 3 is expected to come with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a new A8 processor. An 8-megapixel camera with the iSight feature may also be incorporated into the upcoming iPad Mini.

The iPad Mini 2 is currently being made available with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options, which may also be continued for its successor.
