iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are set to arrive in October, which is the usual release date window of the company's tablet line. But while Apple has not revealed an official release date or any solid information about the iPads' features, there are hints that they may have some similarities with the new iPhones.

It is expected that the upcoming Apple tablets will pack the same design and form factor of their predecessors. Below are some of the new features of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that will most likely arrive in the upcoming iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

Larger screen display

Apple shamelessly increased the size of the screen panel of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, packing 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, respectively. There is a chance that Apple will do this again with their iPad line. Apple may finally introduce the larger iPad dubbed as iPad Pro, which is rumored to have a 12-inch screen panel.

A8 processor

The new iPhones are powered by an A8 processor with 64-bit architecture that promises faster and better performance. It is most likely that the next generation of iPads will also come with A8 chipsets. The devices will also most likely pack a separate M8 graphics processor.

iOS 8

The new mobile devices of Apple will run with the new iOS 8, which boasts a variety of new features, including the new Health app for monitoring one's vital signs.  This, too, is expected in the new iPads.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay is the company's version of an e-Wallet. The tech giant claims that the service offers more security than credit cards.

Touch ID fingerprint sensor

Although the Touch ID fingerprint sensor debuted last year on the iPhone 5S, the iPad line skipped the feature. With the recent improvements and upgrades made on the feature, it is most likely to land in the company's tablet line as one of its selling points.
