iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 discounts offered by Best Buy and Amazon

Christmas is just around the corner that signals the advent of deals and discounts on various devices. Among the devices offered for less are the new iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, although the tablets were released two months ago.

For those who want to stuff stockings with the latest Apple tablets, Best Buy offers up to $100 discount on the new iPad. Specifically, the retailers slashed $50 from the price of the Wi-Fi variant of the iPad Air 2 and $100 from the cellular model of the device with a two-year commitment with Sprint, Verizon Wireless or T-Mobile.

iPad Mini 3 discounts depend on the internal storage of the tablet. The retailer cut $50 from the price of all 16 GB models, $75 from all 64 GB models and $100 from all 128GB models. The discounts apply for both Wi-Fi and cellular variants of the tablet.

The current promotion is considered as the best deal and will run until supply lasts. Best Buy encountered difficulty in delivering the orders for the same iPad Air 2 promo last Thanksgiving due to insufficient supply. The retailer was forced to delay the shipping of some of the units to customers as it ran out of stock. Some buyers were even charged for expedited shipping costs if they wanted their iPad Air 2 devices shipped before Dec.10.

Meanwhile, online retailer giant Amazon offers a discount for the off-contract price of the new iPad Air 2. The retailer sells the tablet for $473.66, which was originally priced at $499, as part of its holiday promotions. More discounts are expected to surface this holiday season.

The iPad Air 2 comes with a 9.7-inch screen display, A8X processor with 64 bit architecture, M8 motion co-processor, and 8-megapixel back camera. The iPad Mini 3, on the other hand, boasts a 7.9-inch screen display, A7 chipset and M7 GPU, and 5-megapixel iSight camera. Both devices come with TouchID fingerprint sensor.
