Huawei Honor Bee 2 updates: Low to mid-tier device on sale in India

Huawei recently launched Huawei Honor Bee 2 in India.

Priced at 7,499 rupees or about $116, the second iteration of the Honor Bee is expected to cater to the low to mid-tier market.

P Sanjeev, vice president for sales of Huawei India-Consumer Business Group, said during the launch of the device, "We are very excited to introduce the Honor Bee 2 in India through our vast offline channel and are confident that it will be a strong performer in the lower mid-level segment."

He continued, "The Honor Bee 2 offers best in class user experience, beautiful design and a great mix of hardware and software will be an exceptional choice for consumers in the mid segment market in India."

In terms of specifications, the Huawei Honor Bee 2 comes in a 4.5-inch screen size with 480x854 pixel resolution. It is powered by an unnamed quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, along with 1 GB of RAM. For its internal memory, the new device comes with 8 GB storage onboard, which can be expanded up to 32 GB through a microSD.

As for its camera, the Huawei Honor Bee 2 comes with 5-megapixel main shooter, along with 2-megapixel camera for its secondary snapper. The device also comes with a circular light ring placed on the rear camera, which glows when the user receives a text message or other notification.

The said feature may also be used as a Smart Key, where users can have access to the applications of the smartphone. It may also be customized to up to three gestures, such as long press, short press, and press and hold, which can be assigned to different tasks depending on the user.

Huawei Honor Bee 2 comes with 2,100 mAh battery capacity. Out of the box, the smartphone runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, along with Huawei's latest customized user interface.

Huawei Honor Bee 2 comes with the color options of black, gold, and white.
