The recently released HTC U Ultra. There are reports that HTC will soon be releasing another HTC U device code-named "HTC Ocean." HTC

Late last month, there were rumors circulating online about another upcoming device from Taiwanese company HTC, simply called "HTC Ocean." Now, new reports seem to confirm its existence, as leaks show its specifications.

Popular leakster Evan Blass revealed on Venture Beat last month that HTC is preparing to release another device, after hearing information from a person who is familiar with the plans of the company. Based on the information gathered, HTC Ocean will simply be referred to as HTC U. The upcoming device is expected to be the "technological centerpiece" after it has evolved from being just a concept design.

At this point, the specifications for the upcoming device are still uncertain. Nonetheless, Android Headlines shares a leak that confirms some of the features that the device will carry once launched in the market.

According to the news portal, the biggest feature of HTC U is its Edge Sense placed at the bottom of the device. This technology has frame-embedded sensors that will enable users to interact and do different functionalities with the smartphone. For instance, users can squeeze for a short period of time to enable some gestures while the device is on sleep mode. Users can also do a long squeeze to do another action.

By enabling this feature, users will have more convenience as they can access different applications such as the camera, turning the Wi-Fi on and off, launching Google Assistant, and launching the HTC Sense companion using just one hand.

Furthermore, HTC U is anticipated to have improved camera features with some high-dynamic range (HDR) settings that will give better output. It is also expected to have real-time HDR scene detection.

As for its screen size and power, earlier speculations believe that HTC U will come in a 5.5-inch wide-quad high-definition (WQHD) display screen with 2560x1440 pixel resolution. It may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, along with 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage that can be expanded through a microSD card.

More details will likely be revealed soon.
