'Heroes of the Storm' new character Skeleton King, Leoric update: Roster expanding

Blizzard's "Heroes of the Storm" is welcoming a new character, and it is none other than the Skeleton King, Leoric.

Leoric is hardly a new name for longtime Blizzard fans as he has previously been featured in the "Diablo" series. This time around, players will be able to use the Skeleton King for themselves as he joins the "Heroes of the Storm" roster as a new melee combatant, according to Kotaku.

Leoric has his own set of unique skills now that he is an official part of the game, but his hero trait in particular does truly set him apart from other characters in the game.

In "Heroes of the Storm," when a character dies, they usually have to be inactive for a set period of time until they respawn and then rejoin the battle; but that is not the case with Leoric.

Thanks to his hero trait, Undying, Leoric will turn into a ghost when he dies during battle, and instead of being inactive, he can still join the battle by using his skills. Leoric will stay as a ghost up until his respawn timer is up, at which point he can be his old self again. One downside is that Leoric in ghost form will be unable to deal any damage, according to Gamespot.

Leoric is the third of four characters added to "Heroes of the Storm" via the "Eternal Conflict" event. Prior to Leoric's release, "Heroes of the Storm" had already added Johanna and The Butcher to its roster via the event based on the games from the "Diablo" franchise, according to the offical "Heroes of the Storm" web site.

The last remaining character from the "Eternal Conflict" event is the Monk. At this point, Blizzard has yet to provide an official release date for when the Monk might join the growing roster of "Heroes of the Storm."
