'Hawaii Five-0' season 6 spoilers, cast news: Catherine Rollins' temporary return

Hawaii Five-0 CBS

"Hawaii Five-0" season 5 ended with a lot of loose ends — Kono and Adam didn't get to finish their wedding, Gabriel was last seen visiting Chin Ho, and Catherine Rollins suddenly came back to attend the wedding when terrorist attacks disrupted everything. Fans are now wondering if the character is going to remain or if she'll be leaving the island in season 6.

According to a report from the Inquisitr, actress Michelle Borth will be around to portray Catherine for some time. Showrunner Peter M. Lenkov noted that she'll be around at the start but his statements also indicate that Catherine won't be in for the entirety of the upcoming season.

"We haven't finalized how long she'll stay," Lenkov stated, "but she'll definitely be in some episodes at the beginning of the season. We haven't figured out exactly where to go, but we're working on it."

According to the Inquisitr, one of the first things the show will have to address is what Catherine will do during her stay in the show. Will she be returning to the team and work on new cases or is she simply going to be a replacement for Kono while the latter is off enjoying her honeymoon with Adam? At least it will give her time to work things out with Steve.

Lenkov also confirmed that season 6 will start with Adam and Kono indeed getting married, so that settles one of the issues from the previous finale cliffhanger.

Catherine isn't the only character making a big splash with a comeback. The last season ended with Gabriel ambushing Chin Ho and according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Gabriel is still on the island and is primed to brew a lot of trouble right from the first episode of season 6.

"Gabriel is definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with, and he's going to come right up, very hot out of the gate in the first episode next season," Lenkov explained.
