'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' news: Storyboard hints at Star-Lord's father

Director James Gunn recently took to Facebook to post a new storyboard image of a scene they had just filmed. The image is just a quick rough sketch of what the actual scene was but Gunn gives enough hints to indicate the scene in question revolves around Star-Lord aka Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) father.

The image in question is difficult to discern but a report from Cinema Blend points out that the sketch resembles several characters standing in front of a cocoon with a light beaming down. The words "my mom always said my dad was from the stars" are sprawled to the right side, hinting that Star-Lord delivers this line during this scene.

More importantly, the report points out that the cocoon may indicate that Star-Lord's father is Adam Warlock. The character was featured in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie but only in his cocooned form. It was widely speculated that by the second film, Adam Warlock will break out of his cocoon to aid in the fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin).

It was revealed at the end of the first film that Peter Quill's father was not entirely human and that he was of an ancient, unnamed race. However, the report points out that Gunn already confirmed that Star-Lord's father in the films will not be the same in the comic books, giving credence to the theory of Adam Warlock's connection.

However, Gunn's post also hinted that any obvious guess may be wrong.

"Another Wednesday, another shot we just just shot from one of my original thumbnails," reads Gunn's post. "I don't think you'll ever guess what this one is, at least not until the film comes out (but I know that won't stop you from tryin)."

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" premieres on May 5, 2017.

Does the Church of England need to re-think its messaging?

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
