'Grimm' season 4 premiere: Fans to say good-bye to Grimm Nick?

Grimm Season 4 Wikipedia

The fourth season of NBC's supernatural drama "Grimm" is a couple of days away from airing and the Portland homicide detective is only promised of more disarray and conflict. In the season premiere entitled "Thanks for the Memories," Nick's (David Giuntoli) Grimm self may soon be abandoned and the hero may become no more than a police officer. Surprisingly, the thought of it seems to be appealing to the guy.

So now that the hero's potential downgrade is underway, the task of fending off the pestilence in Portland, rooting largely from prowling Wessen gangs and their nasty crimes, is up to someone more capable. Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) may be the perfect Grimm lady for the job. However, even the woman has her issues. The murder she committed is still haunting her straight from the grave. Nick, his police colleague Hank (Russell Hornsby) and his lady love Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) have to deal with her about it.

Wu (Reggie Lee) turns up at the scene only to get ensnared in a new menace creeping around the terrain. The ominous threat is in the form of an identity-hitching, tentacled beast called the Gedachtnis Esser. This awful creature aims for memories, draining every ounce from a victim, leaving them manic and demented.

There are other equally detestable members of the new pesky Wessen posse. There's the fanged horrible-looking demon Schinderdiv, and the Heftigauroch which becomes more dangerous when irked. A Golem does not usually hang out with the Wessen but the 10-foot clay monster is just as perilous.

Meanwhile, Adalind (Claire Coffee) is frantically pursuant of her baby's captors. A dent in Juliette and Nick's relationship forms, thanks to one of the mad con's sham performances (Juliette won't let it go that easy, of course). However, the fanatical woman's yearning for her little one takes her into the hands of Prince Viktor (Alexis Denisof).

Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) continues to hold on for dear life after a scoundrel FBI agent in cahoots with a not-so-endearing Austrian Royal family guns him down.

Gear up for the new season. "Grimm" season 4 will premiere on Oct. 24.
