'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 spoilers: Alex and Jo to have 'huge storyline'

Grey's Anatomy season 13 ABC

It's still over a month before "Grey's Anatomy" returns for its 13th season, but there are already details on what the first episode will be all about.

Speaking recently at ABC's Television Critics Association press tour party, actress Caterina Scorsone, who play Amelia in "Grey's Anatomy," revealed that the premiere of the medical drama's 13th season will not have any major time jump from the finale of Season 12.

"We are picking up right where we left off, which is hilarious, because I was in a somewhat different geometric state," Scorsone said, as quoted by TV Line. She is joking about her pregnant state, given that her "Grey's Anatomy" character just got married with Owen.

Asked how the people behind "Grey's Anatomy" will work around his pregnancy, Scorsone said the writers may just make it appear that she over-ate some dessert during her wedding reception.

"The cake was fantastic!" the "Grey's Anatomy" actress joked, adding that the ABC drama will at least have another episode to start hiding her baby bump.

Scorsone also revealed that her character and Owen "are not in a ton of the premiere," meaning the first episode of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will focus on other characters.

"Most of the drama that can be seen on network television is happening elsewhere," she teased.

In addition to this, Scorsone also revealed that the upcoming 13th season of "Grey's Anatomy" will have "a huge storyline focusing on Alex and Jo."

It can be recalled that at the "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 finale, the relationship between Alex and Jo was left on the rocks after Jo could not give a reason why she refuses to marry Alex. As a result, Alex decided to leave.

After the fight between the couple, Alex saw Jo and DeLuca about to hook up. Jo also earlier revealed to DeLuca that she is already married, and that she is using a fake identity.
