Nexus 9 release date on Oct. 8; Nexus 7 is out-of-stock in Google Play Store

The Google Nexus 9 release date is reported to fall on Oct. 8, as it has been observed that the Nexus 7 has gone AWOL from the Play Store.

Nexus 9, dubbed as the successor of the Nexus 7, is expected to be launched in the following weeks. This is fueled by the absence of the 7-inch tablet from the Google Play Store. The device went out-of-stock again, which hints that Google will refresh the stock with the Nexus 9.

According to a previous report from Phone Arena, the tablet will be unveiled at the Double Exposure event either in October or November. Google 9 will most probably appear in October alongside Android L OS.

Rumors say that the upcoming 8.9-inch tablet from Google will be named Nexus 9, and the company will partner with Taiwanese mobile manufacturer HTC in making the new tablet. Also, the tablet will pack an NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset, which is apt for gaming.

Apparently, the Google Nexus 9 will come with various case accessories, including a keyboard folio. The tech giant will fuse the features and capabilities of iPad's Smart Cover and Surface Pro's Type Cover keyboard. However, due to the smaller width, the keys will tend to be more cramped compared to a standard keyboard. But then, it offers access to QWERTY keys as well as to Android function keys.

Moreover, rumors state that the tablet will allegedly pack an 8.9-inch screen with 2048 x 1440 pixel resolution and 221dpi, 2GB RAM, and HTC's famous front-facing speakers. Reports claim that the tablet will cost $399 for the 16GB version, $499 for the 32GB version, while the LTE version will have a price tag of $600. There are speculations that the alleged HTC-made Nexus 9 will replace Google's previous tablets – Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.
