Nexus 6: Verizon network to finally offer smartphone on Dec. 13?

Google's Nexus 6

Consumers will have more options when buying the new Google Nexus 6 as Verizon Wireless will reportedly start offering the handset on Dec. 13. However, the Verizon Nexus 6 release is still not set in stone since the news did not come from an official source, but from a Reddit user who spoke to the employees at a local Verizon store.

"I was just in my local Verizon store, as I am looking to switch carriers. I'm waiting for the Nexus 6 to finalize my switch, but it's obviously not on sale yet. I was speaking with a few of the employees, and they looked into the system and told me the Nexus 6 is expected to be released December 13th. So take that for what it worth, but hopefully it's true," the user shared in Reddit.

The user did not share the data plans in which the smartphone will be available in. If the rumor proves to be true, the carrier will make an announcement soon.

Back in October, Verizon confirmed that it will offer the Nexus 6 but did not give out a definite date as to when the handset will be available for its subscribers.  AT&T and Sprint beat the network by offering the smartphone on Nov. 12. T-Mobile also started selling the Nexus 6 on Nov. 19.

Thus, buyers can purchase the Google Nexus 6 from major networks AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile at flexible rates and monthly subscription fees. Consumers can take home the device without shelling out a cent, but they have to sign a contract under their chosen carrier. The Nexus 6 is also available off-contract in carriers for about $650 to $700.

The unlocked version of the new 32 GB Nexus 6 smartphone is also offered at the Google Play Store for $649.99, while the 64 GB variant costs $699.99. Different retailers like Amazon also offer the device.
