The release of Google Nexus 6 may come soon as the alleged device was spotted on a GFXbenchmark.

Rumors have been circulating that Motorola will be behind the next Nexus smartphone dubbed as Shamu. Now, the rumored device appeared in a benchmark spot. Google named its previous Nexus devices after water creatures. Shamu is the name of the famous killer whale in Sea World. Unfortunately, the benchmark did not reveal any of the specs or features of the device.

Android Police reported that Motorola is working on a device for Google under the name Shamu. The device will aim for US consumers and will be available at major US carriers. Markets that currently have access to Nexus devices will also be able to purchase the smartphone. However, Motorola and Google have not revealed any specific details yet about the alleged smartphone and its release date.

The rumors also purported that the smartphone will sport a 5.9 inch screen display with unknown pixel resolution and a fingerprint sensor. With the massive screen display, it was reported that the handset will be Google's entry to the phablet category.

Meanwhile, previous rumors claimed that Google Nexus 6 will pack high end specs that include: 5.2-inch full-HD, curved LCD display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass; 64-bit version of its Snapdragon 800-series chipset clocked at 3 GHz; 3 GB RAM;13 MP camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera; Bluetooth; NFC; Micro-USB; Wi-Fi; and 4G.

According to the grapevine, the release date of Nexus 6 will be in October, which is the usual launching platform of the Nexus handset. The Google Nexus 6 made by Motorola is planned to be released in November but this could change depending on different factors although the two companies have not confirmed anything. Google still has a lot of devices lined up in its pipeline such as the Nexus 8 tablet, which is alleged to be released in the same time frame.
