The release date of Google-HTC Nexus 9 may come soon as some information that could be related to the device was mentioned in a document from NVIDIA.

According to Android Origin, a document from chipmaker NVIDIA leaked and accidentally mentioned some details that could be related to the purported HTC Nexus 9. The said document is included in the legal documents for the lawsuit that NVIDIA filed against Samsung and Qualcomm. The formers claimed that the two companies infringe seven different patents owned by NVIDIA.

If the document was proved to be true, it confirmed a lot of the ongoing rumors surrounding the device. First, the upcoming 8.9-inch tablet from Google will be named Nexus 9 and the company will partner with Taiwanese mobile manufacturer HTC in making the new tablet. Also, the tablet will pack an NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset, which is apt for gaming.

Latest reports claimed that Google Nexus 9 will come with various case accessories, including a keyboard folio. The tech giant will fuse the features and capabilities of iPad's Smart Cover and Surface Pro's Type Cover keyboard. However, due to the smaller width, the keys were more cramped compared to a standard keyboard. However, it offers access to QWERTY keys as well as to Android function keys.

Rumors added that the tablet will allegedly pack an 8.9-inch screen with 2048 x 1440 pixel resolution and 221dpi, 2GB RAM, and HTC's famous front-facing speakers. Reports stated that the tablet will cost $399 for the 16GB version, $499 for the 32GB version, while the LTE version will have a price tag of $600. There were speculations that the alleged HTC-made Nexus 9 will replace Google's previous tablets – Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

The leaked document also stated that the Nexus 9 release date will take place in the third quarter of this year, which means Google and HTC has less than three weeks to materialize the tablet. However, this is unconfirmed yet as Google is tight-lipped about the details of its plans and devices as well as the release date of its future devices.
