'Glee' season 6 spoilers: TV series to honor Cory Monteith once more

 FOX

The filming of "Glee" season 6 is currently underway and rumors say that the final season of the musical TV series will honor the late Cory Monteith again.

The last season of "Glee" is trying to bring back the entire cast that graced the show to bid their farewell to the loyal fans who followed the series since it began. Cory Monteith, who portrayed Finn Hudson, is one of the most important cast members in the series, having played the on-and-off screen boyfriend of Lea Michele a.k.a. Rachel Berry.

However, the actor died at the young age of 31 on July 13, 2013 due to accidental alcohol and drug overdose. He was found dead in his hotel in Vancouver, Canada. The "Glee" cast and fans mourned for the actor's untimely death. Last season, the actor was given a lengthy tribute in the episode entitled "The Quarterback."

This upcoming season will reportedly honor the actor for the last time. This is backed up by an interview of his co-actor Kevin McHale (Artie) with The Sun. The 13-episode final season of "Glee" will feature Finn and the late actor will be part of one of the episodes in some way.

"His character was just an integral part of the show, so there's really no way to go on and see these characters grow up without him being a part of it in some way," McHale said.

Meanwhile, Matthew Morrison (Will) remembered Cory in nostalgia.

"Cory and I were definitely the tightest," the actor told Hollywood Life. "Since he's passed, I've really gotten really close with Chord [Overstreet] and so that's been really fun. Lea [Michele] and I have known each other forever and Jenna [Ushkowitz] and I have known each other forever... I've experienced some friendships that I will always have. Our camera operator is one of my great friends, it's our family we have spent the past seven years with them. I have nothing but high regards and praise for those people."

Fans will get to see familiar faces such as Lea Michele (Rachel), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Chord Overstreet (Sam) and Matthew Morrison (Will) who will be back in Ohio and will find new gigs in town. Meanwhile, Dianna Agron (Quinn), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Mark Salling (Puck), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), and Naya Rivera (Santana) will appear in some of the episodes as guest stars.

"Glee" season 6 will be back on air in the spring of 2015.
