"Girl Meets World" season 3 premieres this June 3 and will see the main characters starting their life in high school. However, as revealed in a report from TV Line, high school life may not be as smooth sailing as they believed and the friendship between Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpeter) will be put to the test.

According to the report, an exclusive clip of the premiere episode shows Maya and Riley discussing the possibilities of high school ruining their friendship. Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis) and his friend Zay (Amir Mitchell-Townes) are shown encountering some of the bigger boys in the school.

"I heard that even the best of friendships can come apart in high school," Riley informs Maya as they look around the school. "But that couldn't happen to us, right? Promise me that no matter what happens, we will always stick together."

Maya is shown agreeing to this promise but almost immediately the bell rings and the two are separated by students rushing to reach their next class. When the stampede is over, Maya and Riley are at two opposite ends of the hallway and Zay is now alone. When they look up they find Farkle hanging from the chandelier.

However, Maya and Riley are not the only ones who will face relationship challenges.

Rider Strong, who portrayed Shawn Hunter in "Boy Meets World," is set to direct an episode in season 3 and recently shared an image via Twitter. As stated in a report from Cartermatt, this is an image of the lodge where Cory (Ben Savage) cheated on Topanga (Danielle Fishel), indicating their past from the previous show will be revisited soon.

This may indicate that the third season will deal with several relationships reaching a breaking point, with Cory and Topanga revisiting a past issue and Maya and Riley struggling to stay together in high school.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 premiers this June 3.
