'Girl Meets World' season 3 episode 6 spoilers: 'Girl Meets Upstate' sets off eventual love triangle reveal

Riley and Maya in "Girl Meets World" Disney Channel

It looks like fans are close to finally solving the love triangle mystery among Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lucas (Peyton Meyer) in "Girl Meets World" season 3, episode 6.

In "Girl Meets Upstate," Riley brought Maya to Shawn (Rider Strong) in the hopes of helping her find herself. Shawn was more than willing to oblige and it seems that he would be of great help in this.

In this "Girl Meets World" season 3 episode, fans can expect Maya revert to the way she was before, but it's the episode that comes after, which is "Girl Meets True Maya," that will be the culmination of this journey of hers.

Maya being able to find herself appears to have something to do with how the love triangle will be dealt with on "Girl Meets World" season 3.

The "Girl Meets World" writers have been saying whenever they get the chance that there's no love triangle. A recent tweet of theirs (the most enigmatic one yet) once again implies this.

"Influence has been the only triangle. There's me, and you, and what I become because I love you. People change people. And change them back," the writers posted.

Fans have various interpretations of the tweet, but one thing's for sure – Maya's identity crisis has something to do with it. Some speculate that Maya's journey will make her realize that she doesn't like Lucas.

Viewers hope that whatever this remark was about, "Girl Meets World" season 3, episode 6 will shed light on it. The installment is believed to be part of an arc that ends with "Girl Meets Ski Lodge."

The two-parter is expected to be where Lucas reveals whom he truly likes. That being said, the love triangle shouldn't be a triangle anymore by the end of this "Girl Meets World" season 3 arc.

"Girl Meets World" season 3, episode 6 "Girl Meets Upstate" airs Friday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
