'Frozen Fever' release date: short sequel to be attached to 'Cinderella' movie

Come March 2015, there will be a Disney extravaganza for "Frozen" and "Cinderella" fans. The short sequel to the "Frozen" movie will be released and it will be attached to the live-action "Cinderella" movie.

Talks about the "Frozen" short sequel have been around for a while, but lately, there's been a lackluster of updates about it. Now, Disney has confirmed that "Frozen Fever" will be shown from March 13 onwards.

There is no doubt that "Frozen" has a vast following in the world. Even more than a year after its release, kids and adults are still crazy about it. This is the perfect time to release a short film centering on sisters Anna and Elsa, to keep everyone excited.

Over at Twitter, the logo for the movie has been released and just by seeing it, it really brings out the child inside fans. And what perfect way to tease fans than pair it with another highly anticipated movie from Disney, "Cinderella."

The photo is captioned, "Just Announced: #FrozenFever, a new Frozen short, will play in theatres with Cinderella beginning March 13!"

According to the original press release, "From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes the new animated short 'Frozen Fever,' welcoming back to the big screen Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and, of course, the one-and-only Olaf."

The short film is directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho. One of the things to watch out for is the new original song from Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. This movie will be the first project that will reunite the original "Frozen" team.

"Frozen Fever" was officially announced when ABC launched "The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic." The special also showed a clip of the new action-comedy-adventure from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the "Big Hero 6."

What can be expected from the short sequel? According to Slash Film, it's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are hard at work to give her the best party celebration. However, Elsa's powers get in the way and puts the party at risk.

"Frozen Fever" hits theaters on March 13, 2015.
