Ellen DeGeneres has no plans of retiring

In a recent interview, American comedian and talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, revealed that she has no plans of retiring any time soon. Even though DeGeneres has enjoyed a very long and prosperous career in the entertainment industry, there are no indications of her slowing down, which may just be music to the ears of her numerous loyal fans.

On the "Today" show, DeGeneres she was asked about her recently celebrated 60th birthday, which took place on Jan. 26. In response to a question about her plans, the comedian stated that she has no concrete idea of her own personal end goal in the grand scheme of things. DeGeneres stated, "That's why I'm going to keep doing this until I figure that out," alluding to the work she has been doing thus far.

DeGeneres remains a very relevant figure in the entertainment business, with her popular talk show "Ellen" and another one titled "Ellen's Game of Games" in the works, and the thought of retiring or slowing down in her career has not even crossed her mind. As it turned out, DeGeneres is very fulfilled with her work. She stated that she is not even anticipating retirement given the amount of enjoyment that she gets out of what she does.

When DeGeneres was asked about turning 60 years old, she stated that she is very "shocked" because of the stigma that comes with her age. DeGeneres stated that "I'm shocked that I'm turning 60 because it just sounds horrible. It just does."

In other news, the talk show host's father, Elliott DeGeneres, passed away on Jan. 12 at the age of 92. DeGeneres stated that her father lived a completely fulfilling life doing what he loved to do. On the day of her father's passing, DeGeneres posted a picture of a rainbow that arched over her billboard along the Warner Bros. studios lot, where her show is filmed.
